EVENT LANGUAGE: GERMAN
With its iconic objects, the Carl Auböck workshop has shaped Austrian design for over 100 years. The MAK is dedicating an extensive show to the legendary manufactory, which still produces in Bernardgasse in Vienna’s seventh district and was often ahead of its time, focusing on works from the interwar and post-war period up to the 1980s, which paint a picture of home decor as a field of experimentation.
A curator’s tour with Bärbel Vischer.
Meeting point: MAK Columned Hall

MAK – Museum für angewandte Kunst
The role of applied art in shaping our living spaces is the focus of the MAK, which operates at the interface of design, architecture and contemporary art in order to create new perspectives and explore borderline areas. The MAK aims to provide answers to the question of how design can help shape the world and expand possibilities for action and decision-making.
