EVENT LANGUAGE: ENGLISH
Under the new artistic direction of Michelle Cotton, Kunsthalle Wien commissions a temporary, site-specific artwork for the outdoor area of the MuseumsQuartier every year. Internationally acclaimed artist Nora Turato was the first to be commissioned to create a work that will be on display for one year from September 2024.
Turato’s primary material is language and the power structures involved in spoken and written forms. This new, 62-meter-long, text-based work stretches around the southwest wall of the Kunsthalle Wien building and is visible to all passers-by as they cross the outer arch of the MuseumsQuartier.
In an exclusive event for VIENNA ART WEEK, Nora Turato and Michelle Cotton will talk about the collaborative project and provide insights into the artist’s diverse and multifaceted practice.
Kunsthalle Wien Museumsquartier
