SHORT BIO
Soyeon Ahn, born in Seoul, South Korea, studied French literature and art history at Ewha Womans University, and communication in visual art at Yonsei University in Seoul. In addition to her previous positions as Senior Curator at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, Chief Curator at Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, and Deputy Director at PLATEAU in Seoul, she is currently Artistic Director of Atelier Hermès since 2020. She served as Commissioner for the Korean Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2007 and advisor and jury member for other major art institutions in Korea. She curated a number of exhibitions to support young artists, as well as introductory international exhibitions to Korean audiences.
Valentina Peri is an independent curator, artist and author based in Paris. Her work examines the role of technology in contemporary culture, with a focus on love and intimacy in the digital age. She has curated exhibitions, published writing and given lectures on a broad range of topics in these areas. Her traveling exhibition Data Dating about love in the Internet age has been presented in Paris, Tel Aviv, London, Brussels, Geneva and Brescia. In 2022, she started researching the phenomenon of Internet romance scams in West Africa, and published the book The New Romance Scammer’s Instructor, a collection of original messages from Ghanaian love scammers. She is currently working on a new book based on her research in Ivory Coast about “les brouteurs”, or love fraudsters. She received a Fluxus Art Projects Grant in 2022 for her curatorial research on the history of dating : The Museum of Dating, presented in London in 2023. Valentina Peri is also a co-founder of SALOON Paris, an international and diverse network of women identifying art professionals, part of the SALOON Network.
Noam Segal, Ph.D., joined the curatorial department at the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum in NYC in 2023. Her work centers curatorial practice at the intersection of digital, political, and social representations in contemporary art. Before joining the Guggenheim, she was the director of curatorial research in the M.A. program for curatorial practice at the School of Visual Arts, New York.
Segal has curated exhibitions and presented public lectures and programs at museums and arts organizations across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. In 2022, she served on the curatorial team, led by artist Kader Attia, of Still Present!, the twelfth Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art. She organized Maria Hassabi: Cancelled (2022), a performance utilizing media to explore the complexities of womanhood, for the FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial of Contemporary Art. In 2020, Segal organized the AURORA Biennial. Afterward was already in Dallas, weaving together in-person and digital events of diverse scales. Furthermore, Segal has curated and cocurated an array of internationally renowned shows such as Neïl Beloufa: The Enemy of My Enemy, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, 2018; Pope.L: One Thing after Another, La Panacée, Montpellier, 2018; and Anri Sala: No Names, No Title, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, 2015.
