EVENT LANGUAGE: GERMAN
What was and what is? An interplay and exchange of artistic positions are realized in the IG Bildende Kunst.
Since its foundation in 1956, the IG Bildende Kunst has published its own print edition almost every year up to and including 2005. For each edition, five members were invited to realize a work in various printmaking techniques. Based on the wish to make the artistic work of the members of IG Bildende Kunst more visible, the idea arose to let the works of our members enter into a dialogue with the print editions. In the form of a group exhibition, the curatorial team selected 5 editions. In a second step, current members were to be invited to respond to the historical works and provide a work of their own for this dialogue.
In hanging #01, 19 selected works from the editions published by IG Bildende Kunst between 1996 – 2001 were exhibited. In hanging #02, five members responded to this selection. For hanging #03 again five members were invited to refer to an edition of IG Bildende Kunst with their own work. The same happens this year with hanging #4.
With contributions from Alfredo Barsuglia, Rica Fuentes, Franziska King, Luiza Margan, Barbara Palomino.
