What was and what is? An interplay and exchange of artistic positions are realized in the IG Bildende Kunst.
Since its foundation in 1956, IG Bildende Kunst has published its own print edition almost every year up to and including 2005. For each edition, five members were invited to realise a work in various printmaking techniques. Based on the wish to make the artistic work of the members of IG Bildende Kunst more visible, the idea emerged to bring works of our members together with the print editions. In the form of a group exhibition, the curatorial team selected 5 editions. In a second step, current members have been invited to react to the historical works and to contribute with their own work to this dialogue.
As part of the exhibition opening, two performances will take place that address our art policy agendas Pay the Artist Now and Fokus: Senior Artist.
