EVENT LANGUAGE: ENGLISH.
The exhibition “Hollein Calling. Architectural Dialogues” was preceded by an interview project in which fifteen European architectural offices were asked about their references to Hans Hollein. Now they are getting into conversation with each other.
In some offices, connections to Hans Hollein are easily recognizable; in others, there are only indirect similarities. What unites them all is the willingness to engage with Hollein’s work with an open mind and without ideological barriers, even if they often hold contradictory positions. “Hollein Calling” brings together a diverse and inhomogeneous group of architects*. What unites them is the close connection between their building practice and their participation in international discourses. They are fascinated by architecture as a cultural phenomenon and have an interest in its historical dimension as a source for their own designs and research.
