CLOSING PARTY of the exhibition of VIENNA ART WEEK 2022
CLOSING PARTY – 24h OF CHALLENGING ORDERS
For the last weekend of the VIENNA ART WEEK 2022 we are once again joining forces to defend ourselves against structures that are otherwise rarely questioned, even those that we have imposed on ourselves.
Time restrictions such as the one-week duration already anchored in the name of the VIENNA ART WEEK no longer apply in the House of CHALLENGING ORDERS.
On the contrary, instead of closing, we are not only extending the exhibition by another weekend, but also keeping it open continuously for the last 24 hours.
In doing so, we not only want to question the usual opening hours in the art business and the limited accessibility that applies in most exhibition spaces – in the broadest sense – but also the time-honoured “closing party”.
During our 24-hour opening we invite – also! – but not only to celebrate:
A performance programme runs not through the day, but through the night. Invited artists follow the call “Challenge Orders” from various perspectives and keep us awake during this truly “Long Night of the House of CHALLENGING ORDERS”.

HOUSE OF CHALLENGING ORDERS
A condemned office building turns into the exhibition venue for the VIENNA ART WEEK and becomes a unique creative experimental space. On three floors and a total of 1,000 m2 , around 40 national and international artists and performers question existing orders, canons and systems and invite us to challenge our own preconceived opinions and concepts.
