EVENT LANGUAGE: GERMAN.
Haptic, body-related and emotive: textile works come closer to viewers than other media and are linked to femininity like no other. In the artist talk, Dagmar Höss and Gabriele Spindler talk about the confrontation with one’s own, the female body, about problems of self-perception and perception by others, and about levels of meaning of the textile in contemporary art.
In her current series of works “Behind the Blue”, Dagmar Höss transfers shadowy self-portraits as cyanopypes onto paper. In intense blue, background and person seem to merge with each other, material things almost cancel each other out, held only by a fine net of Japanese sashiko embroidery.
Gabriele Spindler is an art historian and curator of the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2024, as well as head of the Department of Art and Cultural Studies at the OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH in Linz.

puuul
puuul is a versatile art space – workshop, autonomous exhibition space and studio in one. The focus of the exhibition activity is on solo exhibitions, which create opportunities to comprehensively engage with the work of an artist. But there is room for many things in the puuul, and an important part of the plan is to be open to ideas, projects and fantasies.
