The Nitsch Foundation is pleased to present the exhibition “SKIN PAINTEENS” by the internationally renowned artist Donna Huanca, marking her second solo show in Vienna. The presentation includes large-scale works on canvas as well as a sculptural installation, creating an immersive, interdisciplinary, and multi-sensory experience.
Donna Huanca combines painting, sculpture, and sound in her work to create a deeply moving Gesamterlebnis (holistic experience) that intensely engages the physical presence of the viewers. Her works on canvas display subtle fragments of painted skin, photographed during her performances and subsequently concealed under layers of paint, pigments, sand, and clay. The two-dimensional abstractions reveal Huanca’s own corporeality, manifested in visible fingerprints and traces of her hands on the surface.
On November 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM, an Artist Talk with Donna Huanca will take place at the Nitsch Foundation in connection with her exhibition, moderated by Margherita Belcredi, Deputy Director & International Relations PHILEAS (the Austrian Office for contemporary art).
To conclude the evening, Nitsch wine will be served to the participants.
Please RSVP by November 8th, 2024: office@nitsch-foundation.com. Limited seats available.
